I apologize for being so absent from posting. Between working on the new cookbook and launching Red Cedar Forest Therapy, I have been pulled away from blogging. As I near completion of all the recipes for the book, I figured it is time to give you an update.
The concept behind this cookbook is marriage. It is a marriage of my husband’s Persian food and my Eastern European Jewish foods. I bring Persian flavors and cooking techniques to my foods and infuse some of my spin into Persian dishes. Polos (rice dishes with a crispy crust) play a big role in this cookbook. And, as will all good marriages, we also learn from those around us, so I bring in flavors from Mexico, India, Israel, and others into our polos.

The book is also influenced by our home in the Pacific Northwest and by our increasingly vegetarian lifestyle (about 80% of our dinners are vegetarian). Vegetarians and vegans will find this book very accessible.

I am hoping to finish all the recipes and begin layout in September, so hopefully it will be ready to publish in December.
Remember, you can still find my first book, Persian Cooking in and American Kitchen on Amazon.
After this is finished, I am looking forward to exploring new foods, flavors and techniques, and sharing those with you.
