We began preparing for our few hours in Wyoming a month ago.  I knew we would go to Devil’s Tower National Monument, so of course we watched Close Encounters of the Third Kind.  Cam was then very excited about the visit – but he was not interested in seeing any aliens!

The tower did not disappoint, it was spectacular from every angle.

Cam found it so amazing, he wanted his picture taken over and over again.  This was the first time he enjoyed being a photo model.

Once again, we arrived at the park early and were amazed at how many more people had arrived in the time we spent at the park.  We definitely learned that being early to national parks is the right strategy if you want a more peaceful experience.

Then it was on to Montana and big sky country!
