After 31 years in Delaware, we are moving to Portland, Oregon. My husband has been there for over a year, so it is time to get my two guys back together.
But before we start our new lives there, it is time for a cross-country adventure with my boy and my dog!
Layered on top of this is my recovery from a concussion; until my husband joins us in South Dakota, I will be driving only 3 to 4 hours a day. This will give us plenty of time each day to explore parks, towns, and farmstands along the way. I am looking forward to finding local specialties and will definitely be gathering local jams and honey along our way. I would love any suggestions for things to do (especially with a 10 year old and a dog), foods to eat, or special farmstands and wineries.
Our 6 week countdown begins today, we leave for western Maryland on July 19!
I am looking forward to being able to blog again, and hope you will join us on our trip. And, if I come up with any interesting concoctions as I try to use up the various items in my pantry, fridge and freezer (using all those fruits and veggies I have preserved or frozen), I will share them. But I am really excited about new foods to cook with and new farmers to meet…I can’t wait!
