Day 24 -Back to normal life, well sort of. Amtrak is shut down, so I had to drive to Philly. So, no walk along the Wilmington Riverfront before my train. But I did get to do a good bit of walking around UPenn. I am surprised that one of the most lushly treed areas on campus is the engineering quad. I remember how stark the engineering quad at Cornell was compared to the rest of the campus, this is the exact opposite. Feeling – brisk.
Day 25 – Another day spend walking around campus. Did over 4 miles crossing back and forth twice and around most of the circumference – all to get to places I needed to go. The best part was finding this hidden garden by the medical school – what a treasure! So I am feeling happy!
Day 26 – I went for a long walk this morning at the Blackbird Creek Reserve. I had never walked their trails before, there were some really nice stretches with views of the creek, others through fields. It was a brisk morning, great to be outside, and I was walking with a friend I had not seen in a few years, so it was a treat. Feeling – content.
Day 27 – It has been awhile, but I finally made it back to the nature preserve near my house. I love it, I feel like it is my private preserve, since it appears I am about the only person who goes there. There is no marked trail, so you really need to know your way around, especially in the fall with all the leaves covering the ground. It always amazes me how quickly you get into deep woods with no sounds of the outside world. It is the place I go when I need to be alone or some time to decompress, which was the case today. So my feeling: relieved
