30 x 30 Challenge – Day 9 -12

The second week of the 30 x 30 Challenge continues with time in Delaware, Philadelphia and Toronto.

Day 9 started out with my usual walk on the Wilmington Riverfront before my train.  Since I have never mentioned it, it is the Christina River that I am walking along.  I then had a picnic lunch at Penn Park, a fairly new large green space on the University of Pennsylvania’s campus. It was a beautiful clear day, but quite windy and a bit chilly.  It is nice to have the center city skyline behind the trees. So the feeling – content

Day 10 – A rainy day in Toronto.  It was a difficult day to get my half hour in – between traveling, dealing with lost luggage, and shopping for clothes to wear to my talk, I just barely got in 1/2 hour outside.  Luckily my taxi let me off about a mile from my destination restaurant (not planned), so I was able to get the additional time outside looking around at trees that I needed to top 30 minutes.  No pictures though – too busy dealing with all the mishaps.  Feeling – frustrated.

Day 11 – I was stuck inside a convention center all day, my only time outside was my walk to and from the center.  Once it ended it was raining, lots.  So, although I did not get out in nature today, I did go to the gym and watch the video of the hill I was measuring my stair climbing against.  A poor substitute.  So I am feeling disappointed that I do not have a nature experience to share my feeling about.  But, tomorrow is another day.

Day 12 – My last morning in Toronto and I finally got out for a walk to the riverfront.  I even found a park; it felt so good to see trees! So how do I feel?  Relieved and refreshed!  I feel fortified for my day of travel and horrible airport and airplane air.

There is nothing like the red that maple trees turn in Canada!
